Fall / Winter ‘06

The club season is upon us again as we cant wait to be indoors after a wet summer. This fall Pink Houses had to say goodbye to two of the Pink Houses members.Pink Houses practice - Dec. 2006

Lori Worth, Pink Houses backup singer left the band in September to work on her job and spend a little more time with family. And Maggie Chapman percussion hula hoop back up singer and a woman always with a smile. Maggie and Lori will be missed but always part of the Pink Houses Family.

The band took a month off this winter so we could add to the show with new songs, new members, and new energy.

After taking the month of December off Pink Houses will kick off the new year adding new Mellencamp songs and a couple of new members to the band. Katie “Lil Red” Mazzie brings a new sound and harmonies to the backup vocals. Katie started off early in the fall and became part of the family the second she started to sing. Tammy fills the spot with the percussion bringing the band back to full strength adding vocals and congas to fill out the band. One new crew member we cant forget, Mike Wilson guitar tech and all around crew guy. Pink Houses welcomes the new members to the band and becoming part of the Pink Houses family.

We all look forward to the ‘07 season with new faces, new songs, new look with all the energy Pink Houses always brings to each show.

Summer ‘06

The Band had a very busy summer with shows booked near each weekend hitting every corner of the state and then some.

First we welcomed new crew members to the Pink Houses Family: Derek aka “Puss”, Josh “The Hammer” Ray and Joel came on board to help out a long summer tour.

All of the band and crew nick named the summer tour as “The Rain Dance Tour” as it seemed to rain at most every show as soon as the sun went down. Even though Pink Houses were rained on that didn’t dampen the spirit’s of the band as the show went on without a hitch and only one show shorted.

A number of shows remain in our memories as they were highlights during the Pink Houses summer: Lake Villa, IL showed us that even with a storm brewing and downpours there was no way the show wouldn’t go on. The fans were crazy and kept the band on a high ending the show with a number of dancers ending up on stage with the band making a party we soon will not forget.

Other shows that stood out was the Washington County Fair with Poison being the headliner. Over 40.000 plus people at the show prompted the band to show the fans a show of shows as Pink Houses kicked out a 3 hour set holding the crowd and keeping everyone on their feet.

A show a Boscobel, WI called the Boscobel Beach Party had no beach but was the hottest show of the year with temps pushing 100deg with no breeze and humidity as high as the temps.

Marinette, WI gave us 60mph winds, hail, lightning and made us all think the show was over. Pink Houses started playing after the storm to a small crowd and within minutes Marinette showed us what they are made of as the Park grew with fans coming from all over and filled the park and gave us a show to remember.

One of the last summer shows before we head back to the clubs was at Castaways in Chicago. With heavy rains and a five hour trip to Chi Town we started to wonder how this show was going to happen. Don’t tell anyone in Chicago a little rain will stop them as the rain still fell the moved the band to a club on Clark Street and they showed Pink Houses the party will still go on.

The summer came to a end with memories for every one in the band and crew with shows to remember and new friends at every stop.
