Meet Michael BB
Michael BB lives and works in Madison, WI, and plays throughout the state.
He has a B.M. in composition from UW-Madison. He has studied with Jimmy Cheatham, Richard Davis, Les Thimmig, Ted Jackson, Hal Galper, Barry Harris, John Downey, Ruth Schoening and Betty Hansen.
Jazz, blues, rock, funk, salsa, big band, and classical, are all
styles in the bag.
Currently, MBB has a Jazz Piano Trio, featuring John Schaffer on bass and Mike Turk on drums. MBB also plays solo and duo jazz.
MBB is playing the Korg BX3 Hammond organ clone in a new post-bop jazz quartet called the BEAT Unit, with James Benson, Matt Holllander, and Chris Chambreau. They feature lots of original music.
MBB also has a progressive rock band, simply called PROG, a NEW rock band called ConCrete, playing 80's and 90's rock fav's and plays with the Old School R & B group Another Beginning, based in Racine, WI as well as playing keyboards and accordian with Pink Houses.
