Meet Katie “Lil Red” Mazzie
Born: March 25th 1977
Band contributions: Backup vocals, Tambourine
Experience: I’ve sung in various choirs, and performed in school musicals since I was a child. In my later school years I learned to play the cello. My first band experience was in fall of 2005 when I was invited to join the Buzz Toyz. Since that time, I’ve sat in with Sky Rock and Last Call.
Other music-related accomplishments: I was a karaoke host in my hometown of Racine Wisconsin for about six months prior to moving to Watertown Wisconsin in August of 2005. In June of 2006 I did a community service project with my husband. We performed as a duo singing and playing for “Doughnut Days” An annual benefit raising money for the Salvation Army in Illinois.
What I do when I’m not rehearsing or performing: I’m a Transitional Teacher for Mary Linsmeier Schools.
Personal: Happily married to David Mazzie of the “David Mazzie Acoustic Experience.” We have two children. A son, Joshua and a daughter, Kylie.
Favorite musical group: The Dixie Chicks, I love the way they harmonize so well together. To tell you the truth, any country artist really!
Favorite past times not music related: Camping, working out, and spending time with my friends and family.
Guilty pleasures confessions: I’d tell ya, but then I’d have to kill ya!
Person I most admire: That’s a tough one...My husband David, who encourages and supports me in everything I do, and my mother who is my rock.
