Meet Dan Bono
 Born: 5/13/1952
Keyboards: I started playing accordion when I was 5 years old. I have been playing keys my whole life. As I got older, I switched to Organ. I got hooked on the Hammond B3 sound of Jazz and Funk. My roots followed bands with horn sections. Blood Sweat and tears,Chicago,Earth Wind and Fire.
Other Bands: I have played with Wildheart for the last 10 years. Musket Ridge was my first country band in Madison 15 years ago.
Other Music related: I played Tuba in the high school marching band. I also played around with bass guitar. I wish I would have made that my main instrument. I dig the thumping.
Favorite Bands: I think my favorite band changed as I went thought my years of growing up. The Beatles for sure were up there in my top favorite bands.
How I first got into playing music: My parents used to put on “Bob Hope” shows for the military bases in NJ when I was small and used to go with them when I was around 5 years old. I have always been around music.
Bands/Artists that have most influenced me: I would say that the Beatles influenced my love for harmonies. Also the Beach Boys had great vocals. The band Chicago also had great instrumental harmonies in their chord structure...
Favorite Mellencamp song memory: The bass line in “I’m Not Running Anymore” is really cool.
Favorite songs: I really have too many favorite tunes. It changes even now as new tunes come out.
Favorite Pastimes that aren't music-related: I like fixing things, computers, and things around the house. Hanging with my wife Sue and kids. Going to Hawaii. I really did that, Riding my motorcycle and working around my home.
